The new, anti-phishing element that has been installed by Instagram will now let you see all official emails which Instagram has sent to you in-app.
If you receive an email prompting you to take action with your Instagram account, you can now check to see whether or not it is a legitimate notification from Instagram.

Instagram explains: "Today, we’re launching a new feature to help people identify phishing emails claiming to be from Instagram. This account security feature (accessed through Settings) allows anyone to check if an email claiming to be from Instagram is genuine."
This will bring awareness and ensure that people know that they can cross-check against this list. If you know anyone who's been sent questionable emails in the past, it would be a good idea to let them know about this new update.

Users who have previously been suspicious about emails they have been sent in the past will be given clarity and confidence; It’s a great way to thwart phishing scams.
The feature replicates the same functionality on Facebook, which was first to launch in 2017.
In other Insta news, they have also confirmed that they are removing its 'Following' tab in the app. This previously provided a list of friend’s activities, letting users see what content their connections had engaged with.
