What’s New with LinkedIn?

We love it when a social media platform gets a new feature - we get all giddy like someone meeting their celebrity crush! We’re going to be taking a closer look at a great new feature on LinkedIn which is their Service Pages, the first part of LinkedIn Marketplaces which is due to be released in September.

LinkedIn describe their Service Pages as “dedicated landing pages that showcase your services and businesses at no cost”. They “appear on feeds of your network as well as your own” meaning your business gets extra visibility! They are aimed at freelancers and small businesses to help boost their online presence as these pages also make your services easier to find through search engines and anyone with a LinkedIn profile can message you about your services for free. That means more messages from more people which should increase business!
You LinkedIn users may be sat there thinking that this isn’t too different from the Open for Business feature but that just allows you to show that your business has services available. The new Service Pages connect to your profile and allow you to go into detail about the services you offer. This will help those who are looking for specific services to find them more efficiently.
Not on LinkedIn? Here’s why you should be!
• LinkedIn helps network on a global scale and promotes your brand on a reputable platform
• Posts, similar to Facebook, allow your potential customers to get to know you and your business
• Companies that post just 20 times a month will reach at least 60% of their followers with just one update so the more you use it, the better the result.
• Show why you’re better than your competitors

We strongly recommend that your business has a company page on LinkedIn as part of your online marketing strategy to help boost visibility and therefore sales.
